Well then that is a danger that I don't want "updates will balk and do funny things" but I don't want any updates at all. I'm trying to avoid the latest versions Win 10 & 11 and security updates, my goal here is to downsize and go backwards to Win 7 or even Tiny 7.
I have been thinking that my...
error correction: I did not find Tiny7 myself so I can't take credit for it. I found something else similar called Lite and mixed up the two. Either way, they seem like good approaches to fix any PC with low RAM and HD space.
ok thank you for those 3rd party programs, I'll look into those. I don't care about any browser issues, I won't use one on the Win 7 anyways, not even the defaults unless I absolutely have to, but it will be very rarely if at all.
I stumbled upon the Tiny7 myself and the more I read up on the...
I bought the Asus VivoSticks as travel computers because of size and easy-of-use. But now I will use one to run a monitor 12/5 yes. But I also have an AceMagician T8Pro which will be my first Win 7 downscaling attempt. Does Win 7 have the Windows Defender and can I shut that down?
well I can't update just the drive and take the VivoSticks apart and reinstall another drive, its probably soldered anyways. But even upgrading the package and buying a new mini-PC will put me in the same problem of unwanted automatic updates so I'm going the route of Windows 7 is what many are...
Hello, I have some mini-PC problems, it started when Windows 10 kept pushing updates to flood my 32gb hard drives to a mere 100 mb's in my Asus VivoSticks TS10 making them inoperable. I had to keep deleting updates everyday and could not shut down the automatic updates in the policies no matter...
why would it be complex, having a USB in 3 partitions and autoboots in each so I can plug it into any PC to load and test out distros...in theory, that should be easy. I would think.
And with a new USB - (SanDisk Ultra Luxe 32GB USB 3.1 SDCZ74-032G-G46) after reformatting to EXT4 for these partitions will I be wiping away any vital Linux drivers or kernels that would prevent me from doing the set up what I’ve described above?
So getting back to this problem after I had to shelf it for a holiday week, I decided not to get back into solving the problem myself because I can't stand the time kill torture any longer.
So I'm just going to bring the mini-PC's to a computer shop and tell them to do it for me instead. But I...
I have 3 Asus TS10 VivoSticks with Win 10 on them and 1 AceMacigian Pro mini-PC box with Win 11 on it. On the Asus stix (Win 10) I find it impossible to "fully" turn off automatic updates, and it floods the 32gb drive to a mere 100's mb size. On the Ace box (Win 11) I see the option of turning...
Hello, I am using a special data transfer cable with particular softwares: Bravura & PCLinq5 to link 2 mini-PC sticks together to recognize each other’s C Drives to wipe them clean and reformat to them, but I’m not able to see the C Drives of each no matter what I do. Both use Win 11. Is there...
