I recently did a clean install of Win 10 on an ssd on my Dell Inspiron 5558. I do not want the OneDrive functional and want to delete the local files. I have unlinked the MS cloud drive, and deleted all but I am unable to stop OneDrive from sync files locally . The Sync and Backup settings are greyed out in OneDrive settings.

MS says you won't lose files if you uninstall OneDrive rather than un-linking. I wouldn't do this without multiple backups to be sure.
