Hi,

Regading this outstanding piece of what can only be described as "We will use your PC to check out our stuff on. We arent bothered if its going to work and if our software wrecks it, you are to blame " Check the box if you agree ware.

Now Im all for Beta testing or even Pre Alpha testing if I have half a clue whats going to be running. But giving open access to a reputable company who are fast leaving my realms of patience is a definite NO in my book.

For once in a long time I actually read the agreement which you have to sign to register this software and Im kind of wondering what they are up to, apart from saving money on staff and equipment to test out software, Gods sake who do they think they are, Microsoft !!!!!

Why am I down on ASUS right now, well Ive just spent a ton of money updating my aging Desktop and opened up the VR world. I bought a brand spanking ASUS ROG STRIX B760-F with gaming wifi. Bought a shed load of DDR5 for it. Built it got it all setup then noticed something weird, I got 4 x 16GB 6000 Mhz (Highly doubt that speed nut what the hell) so I should have 64GB of rocket ram installed on this with an i7 Series 12 also new.

So I did a system check and went back to the bios to find only the A Channel DIMM 1 and 2 were actually registered. B Channel was dead. Did the ram strip swapping and the BIOS to check it and all the strips function as they should, just not in B channel DIMMs 1 and 2.

Anywho, I have spent the last few weeks talking to ASUS support and the supplier who sold me the Motherboard. Supplier, nope its not our fault we buy direct and sell product we dont warranty it. So I talk to Asus who can see the item is registered with them on their Website and now heres the kicker, they say talk to the supplier, nothing we can do. SO I reply with so Ive got a warranty for 2 years on this motherboard which has a proven issue and I get quoted in beautiful macro phrase

Customer Service Feedback

Dear ********,

Thank you for contacting the ASUS UK and Ireland Support Team. We value you as a customer and your satisfaction is of the utmost importance to us.

My name is Andrei and it would be my pleasure to assist you in any way possible. Firstly, we would like to apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

Although we manufacture our products to the highest possible standards and aim for them to function well beyond normal life expectancy, at the end of the day they are highly complex technical products that unfortunately can on occasion encounter a hardware malfunction.

We are sorry that this appears to be the case with you. If you are dealing with a hardware error, since we do not offer direct service processing for this category of product, we would recommend that you report your device to your dealer. They will then take over the further processing for you. I understand this is inconvenient, however as part of the sale process the reseller/retailer accepted that they would control all returns/replacement on behalf of ASUS for the duration of the warranty."

SO the thing works on one channel, ok, should run on two but doesnt and ASUS dont want to honour the warranty, claiming its the sellers fault who never even open the box. Im with the seller on this and they rightly say its ASUS fault.

And so an and so forth.

So ASUS youll forgive me if I dont want your testing junk on my PC and when I see you stick T & Cs in an install that basically give you Carte Blanche to do what the hell you want to my machine without approval I think ill be deleting all but essential ASUS ware off my machine and save up for a new Motherboard.

SO ARMOURY CRATE, not on my watch.

This is another example of bean counters running a profit is everything company. Works in the short term but ruins your reputation. I haven't trusted Asus since the bad electrolytic capacitor debacle. Asus refused to honor warranties blaming the cap maker and for their board owners take it up with them. Just about every OEM honored their warranties. Lesson learned for me. Don't ever trust Asus, it not a question of if, just when.
