WTF is WER FAULT and ...

Can someone give me a clue or indeed an opinion on the "Wer Fault" process that kicks into life as soon as the machine has been stood a while.

New on Windows 11 and still sorking my way through junk that the system can do without.

I understand from Microsoft its an error reporter that seems to want to write a report about every file every day, Not impressed

Something is crashing your system coming out of idle. Could be something incompatible. Any OEM stuff with Win 10 approval only? Drivers maybe mucking things up?
Clean OEM install or "fixed" to load in a non-compatible spec system.
I have upgraded almost all my fleet. I did have to reload a couple of fixed install (fixed via Rufus). Always make Revo your second load after WinRar so you can back out of any later installs. Without knowing any more details that's as good as it gets. Video drivers are my best guess.

The computer is new and started life being built and had Win 10 Pro installed on my license. Then went insane in my head for a while and thought oh well why not give Win 11 pro a try seeing as its free to upgrade and so im on Win 11 Pro on my license.

As for incompatability there isnt anything connected to it that isnt approved for Windows 11 operation and all items have Windows 11 drivers installed from source makers.

As for backups I have my original source file image to go back to Win 10 Pro if this gets silly.

I keep getting the flashing disk access light and the matching file usage is this WER FAULT thing. Microsoft as usual give a wonderful report on its use and was just wondering if its going to be one of those files that is constantly being a Granny state thing "OO you shouldnt be running that it might do something I dont like" id like to know what file it actually is, having already looked for the darn thing.

Hi! The "WerFault" task is a way Windows tells you about problems. It starts when there's a bug found with an app or service. You can turn it off, but it's best to solve the issues that make it start. Look for which apps are giving trouble, then update or remove them if they're not needed.

To be fully honest here, Its still a new installation of Win 11, so Im kind of in no mans land with stuff right now. Ive only had one program get the red flag and been told im not installing that, other than normal office installs and drivers / Games and a couple of pieces oftorrent software and coder sooftware, Ive found nothing of any interest to me.
I was kind of wondering if this is part of the TPM operation. Thanks for the reply.
