Now that it has been confirmed that Windows 11 is a free upgrade for Windows 10 users, many PC users are wondering if their PC can run Windows 11 without any issues.

To start with, most PCs running the latest version of Windows 10 should be able to install and run Windows 11 without any issues. That said, the minimum system requirements are not the same. The only significant change is a requirement of a 64-bit processor, as Microsoft plans to release only the 64-bit flavor of Windows 11. That is, unlike Windows 10, there will not be a 32-bit flavor of Windows 11 for 32-bit CPUs.

Additionally, Trusted Platform Module (TPM) version 2.0 is required to install and run Windows 11.

Use PC Health Check to check if your PC supports Windows 11

To help all users check if their PCs are compatible with Windows 11 minimum system requirements, Microsoft has released a program called PC Health Check.

All you need to do is download (link at the bottom of this page) and run PC Health Check on your computer. It is easy to use as well. For your convenience, we have added step-by-step directions below.

Step 1: Get the PC Health Check app from this link.

Step 2: Run the setup file to get it installed. Once installed, it will be launched automatically. If not, you can manually launch it using Start/taskbar search.

Step 3: Once the PC Health Check app is launched, you will see the Introducing Windows 11 section. Click on the Check now button.

Step 4: If your PC is compatible with Windows 11 system requirements, you will see the following “This PC can run Windows 11” message. It simply means that you can upgrade to Windows 11 for free when it becomes available.

And if your PC does not support Windows 11 for some reason, you will get the “This PC can’t run Windows 11” dialog along with why your PC cannot run Windows 11.
