Well way back when I teamed up with a really smart fellow from Norway. We first met when we were snooping around a Pub, commonly name for an FTP the allowed guest access or easily guessed passwords. These were in the original places to distribute warez. His handle was The Bull and mine was simply The Dog. We dcided to open a bard about warez discussions. This was probably 30 years ago, when I joined I had a 56kbit modem as did most everybody at the time. I was lucky enough to be close to the phone company central office so line quality was excellent. I remember saving up to buy a 128 kbit modem.
Then came broadband, Jon Lech Johansen and his group (Bull?) formed MoRE, crack DVD decryption, the board closed and that was the last time I heard from Bull. I used my cred to get into some cool groups and was mentored by some really great guys.
I started hanging out in the DVD groups. DVDs may have been cracked, the big challenge was having to compress the DVD from dual layer (8.5GB) to a single layer writable DVDR (4.7GB). Dual layer writable were not being manufactured yet. It was a matter of how you compressed the original video. Take it from me, it was an art form back then, the prepackaged "one-click" wonders transcoding programs produced some terrible jerky pixelated video.. There were some incredible members of altbinariesdvdr.net, the board. There are still some artifacts of of the board on the wayback machine. I inherited top admin privilages from BigD.. I kept the board going until I was forced to give up everything to take on a new job with lots of IT responsibilities the company's owner, a good friend asked me to. The company had gotten into serious legal difficulties with Microsoft and I was ironically hired to clean the place up. I did a very good job at that but it meant walking away from the scene. All I had left was my cred and I adopted the handle so people who knew could ID me.
I laid low for a very long time until I stumbled onto Thumper's board at the time, I forget what it was called at the time, The DMCA has been cruel to the boards in the past. That is why I am a rules bitch at time. I am just trying to keep the doors open here. I have gone thru a couple of new demanding job changes in the last few years, I feel badly I don't have time to spend here lately.
Well that's my story. I have been around Widows systems in all kinds of evironments as an admin for decades. Over the year I have picked up a great deal of knowlege and that I don't mind sharing.
So that's my long boring story.

My Nick was formed as "Always Free For ALL FXP" or AFFAFXP and I was known as AFFA and that stood for what we represented which was Always Free For ALL. To this very day it stands the same affasocial.com Always Free For All Social Network. I have been doing shares since 1999 to date.
