It happens to the best fo us. When you deal with cracked software sometimes you get hit. It happened to me a month ago. I was in a big hurry and I forgot the rules of the road, namely ALWAYS submit a program to virustotal no matter what before attempting to install it on your system.
AFFASocial has listed and keeps us up to date with the best means of defending your browser, yes there are other ways but you will never go wrong following his guidelines.
And please the most important rule you must always follow is "If it sounds too good to be true, it is". This is the way all these social engineering schemes work. Just walk away before who knows what.
If you do get hit, by far the best remedy is wipe your C drive and do a fresh install. That gives you a nice clean shiny Windows install ready for you to muck up once again. You can go through the long process of removal and insuring there are no leftovers, lord knows I did that for a living a while back. It was a long expensive process that worked 99% of the time. So if you get hit, it's your choice, it happens.
