Microsoft Basic Display Adapter was a huge step forward esp. during loading a fresh OEM or retail edition of Windows. You always get a decent display. It wasn't always that way. Granted you still have to get the factory drivers. Always start out at the video adaptor's manufacturer on in the case of onboard graphics go to your PCs manufacturer. Sometimes it can make a real difference than the generic graphic drivers.
