There are two ways in using the sweethome software, which is an .exe and an online platform for you to use.

Sweet Home 3D is available in English, French, and 20 other languages.
It may run under Windows, Mac OS X 10.4 to 10.8, Linux and Solaris,
you can install plenty of 3D models to install with this software.

Create your 3D models

To create your own models, you may use any software able to generate files at OBJ, DAE / Collada, 3DS or LWS format.
If you want to contribute to additional models in Sweet Home 3D, please post them in 3D Models Contributions Tracking System.

Other web sites with 3D models

The following sites offer also some 3D models at OBJ, DAE, 3DS or LWS formats supported by the furniture import wizard of Sweet Home 3D:
StarStarStar Google 3D Warehouse (a big choice of models at DAE/Collada format)
StarStarStar Resources.blogscopia (free well designed models shown also here)
StarStarStar ArchiBit Generation (various well designed models)
StarStarStar Flying architecture (various models with regular updates)
StarStar Free the models (furniture tested in Sweet Home 3D)
StarStar Kolo (bathroom furniture)
StarStar Creative-3D.net (a lot of importable furniture, but monochrome)
StarStar Klicker (a few chairs and trees)
StarStar Model3D.biz (various models, but a few models can't be imported)
Star Baumgarten Enterprises (a few interesting models, generally for industrial purpose)
Star 3DPlants.com (a lot of plants but without colors, except for the Plant of the month)
Star Archive3D (many models but a lot of them can't be imported in Sweet Home 3D)
Star 3D Meshes Research Database (many models but a lot of them can't be imported in Sweet Home 3D)

For Google 3D Warehouse models available only in SKP/SketchUp format, it is possible to easily convert them to DAE/Collada format by choosing File > Export > 3D Model... out of the menu in the free version of SketchUp.

If Sweet Home 3D refuses to import some of the ZIP files proposed on these sites, please unzip them first.

Please respect the license of the models that you may download on these web sites.
