I have a system at home now and I am dealing with and another at work that are stuck on older versions of Win 10. My system here is stuck at 1903, not sure what version the work system is although our 3rd party security consultants keep threatening to kick it off the domain. These are normal valid licensed copies of Win 10 Pro x64. Windows upgrade won't upgrade either one and I get strange errors when manually using Windows update assitant on m system. So looks like the only solution is a fresh install of 22h2 from an ISO. Kinda weird but in case you haven't noticed M/S is pushing 11 upgrades. Of course that means buying new hardware or using Rufus to allow a non-standard installation. Work hasn't really done much research into a 11 upgrade yet. The domain situation at work is a mess but that's another story, we are half on one domain and half on aother (those percentages aren't accurate) so trying to upgrade around that will be a hot mess, thankfully not my direct problem to solve.
So I wonder why Microsoft is making Win 10 version upgrades such a pain? Is it intentional? The Win 10 --> 11 drama is going to intensify as Oct. 2025 gets closer. Some users outside of the corp. world just flat out don't want 11, too different. Microsoft should understand that from Office. Leave stuff alone. People get used to automatically doing things without a great deal of thought. Windows 11 forces them to rethink what they are doing.

I disabled virtually every non-essential program. I ran DISM then sfc, still no luck. I gave up and did a fresh install. Here’s the problem at work. The system in question is used to program PLCs on the production lines. Some of the program suite are from Rockwell which use a very unique protection system, they link to the HD serial number for an ID. If you move the programs it requires phone communications to reset those IDs takes a very long time so I would like to avoid not to mention pulling this system out of the active production line loop. Lucky me, looks like there is no other solution. Yeah Microsoft!

There was a recent Windows 10 update that kept erroring causing other updates to not install. Turned out I had to extend the 500mb recovery partition to 1gb. The partition wasn't large enough for the update.

Yeah that's pretty common believe it or not. It would be swell of Microsoft to tell you that in plain language.
If you run the manual upgrade asistant, it will check for conditions like that and warn you before you attempt the upgrade.
Believe me I had a chat with AFFAsocial. I did everything I could possibly or for that matter any answer I could find in forums including Microsoft's. Windows just subbornly refuses to upgrade Win 10 1903 to 22h2 period with no specefic errors returned. Who knows? I reloaded/am reloading the systems in question with a M/S OEM ISO of V. 22h2 and moving on. Reloading specific programs on the work system is going to be a royal pain in the backside.

never really did updates just to many problems after fixing so little lol currently running win 10 22h2 with atlas mod to speed windows back up and the thing i like about the atlas mod it removes MRT tool so my boogie softwares work some how windows 11 has defeated this so l8rs on that version till the atlas crew can get on top of win 11
