Greetz from an elder! From Apple II to Amiga 500 in the 80's; always a gotta-have-it software junkie, used to go to "copy meets" for Amiga where you showed up with a box of 100 floppies and started swapping and copying softwarez. We could emulate the Mac and PC on our Amigas back then. But as PC got the market, I switched around Win 3.1. Now still on blessed Win 7 Pro on 2 machines, but on the Pit of Problems on my newest ,...Win 10. What a POS.
Still love playing with new software, and tweaking.
Still love the old music on keygens taking me back to the Good Old Simple days.
I enjoy reading of problems and solutions and appreciate the helpful crew here.

Oh I remember. My first crack was for a game on a either VIC-20 or Commodore-64 can't remember. Commodore was in my back yard and I worked for a company that did quite a bit of business with them The copy protection used to hammer the outboard 5 1/4" floppy drive in a read error that returned a code that made the game work. Pissed that the author wouldn't remove that routine and was killing people's drives drove me into cracking.
Ah the good ol' days, CORE and Centropy (2 scene groups that pretty much ruled the earlier days of Windows). Does The Scene really exist anymore? P2P seems to have pretty much done it in. There used to be honor among pirates. Sigh!

They still have Demo parties, but it's not impressive since everyone has high powered graphic cards. Loved it when you had the competition to write only 64k or less, and some amazing f/x were done in assembler. Yeah, miss the innocence and the whole "leet game, being "insiders" amidst a sea of Noobs! We thought we were akin to hackers... but really... we were only somewhat less lame piratez!
