installed new copy of windows 10 from iso that was downloaded using windows creation tool.
does not recognize dvd drive and instead set it as a disk drive. any help? thanks

Well that's a new one to me. It's either being provisioned that way by the BIOS or who knows what Windows is up to. Try soft uninstalling the DVD ROM through the device manager, restart the system and see what happens. You didn't mention if this was a tower or a laptop or was the DVD ROM ok in the last install. If it's possible physically remove the hardware and restart, turn it off and connect the drive back to another SATA channel if possible. It's gotta be a hardware problem if this problem persists.
Out of curiosity what were the circumstances that led you to reinstall Win 10?
