Hello!
Wondering if anyone has had any issues with their screenshots saving to an unknown location?
Onedrive rerouted all of my files, so I disabled it and moved the folders into a new folder system, and somewhere along the way screenshots stopped saving to any file I can find.
Any advice how to reset the screenshot folder would be much appreciated!
Thanks

Try clicking on the screenshot, it will pop up for editing, etc. Just go ahead and save it, take note of the foler it is saving in. Or you can rename it something unique and odd and search the local drives for that title.
I agree, One Drive is bizzare. It takes over stuff that you never told it too. More Microsoft microengineering guessing what you might want. That's why I told Copilot to take a hike. It's just snooping around and what I consider making dumb descisions. Thanks but no thanks AI, I'll figure it out myself.

Install ImageForge or open mspaint. Press PrtSc key and ctrl+v on any image editor.

Since you have found your way to this site I presume you are open to exploring software on a "free" experimental basis!
Why not graduate up to a decent screenshot program? I find Techsmith Snagit to be excellent, as you can add text, arrows, shapes, etc., and also has built in OCR image to text

Thanks for the responses! So, nothing pops up for editing.
Initially I would do a screen capture from the print screen key, it gives options for cropping a rectangle, lasso, etc, or the entire image. Then it would just appear in the folder. Now it does not appear anywhere from what I can tell.
If I push the Window button and PrtScn, then it saves to the desktop.
I can snip and paste it elsewhere, but all of these other options are multi step, that is why the PrtScn button exists to eliminate the other steps.

So I have just tried to change the registry, and it worked to reroute the 'Pictures' folder, the 'Camera Roll', but Screenshots remains empty.
The Screenshots file {F42EE2D3-909F-4907-8871-4C22FC0BF756} was set to desktop, so I changed it to the new Screenshot folder, and still it saves in the manner I described above, the PrtScn button saving nowhere I can find, and the window + PrtScn saving to desktop.

And still nothing pops up for editing so I don't have an option to resave the file or track it.

I am hoping to entirely remove OneDrive but it pops up as the Default everywhere!

Thanks again, any more tips would be great.

Add/Remove One Drive. I used Revo. One Drive like Defender is way too instrusive.

I have removed it, but this issue with One Drive happened before I removed it. So the screen capture is just kind of lost!
Thanks for all of the suggestions.

Click on the Windows Icon, place the cursor over settings and you should see "Pictures" that's where the screenshots are. For me anyway.
