Aspire E 15 Laptop builtin microphone not detected by Windows 8

Can somebody please help me or tel me why my builtin microphone is not working, worst it is not being detected by windows. I check the specs of the unit it has a builtin microphone but inspite of reinstalling the audio driver I could not make it work. Please help.
