Hello

I have a Asus M513UA. I noticed after a feature update the t key and e key would only work after I repeatedly pressed the keys. Shortly after the t key stoped working altogether.
the hardware is working perfecly. In ubuntu I have no issues at all. I tried rein stalling windows but no luck.
I have absolutly no idea why this is happening

Any Help please

Slap the back of the keyboard a few times, then try the key(s). If it works normally, the keys are sticking. Keyboards are made of plastic that can flex during heat and cold, just like cards in your PC. The motherboard can flex with heat and cold and cause issues until we make sure everything is seated in its slot correctly. I clean my computers constantly and always check everything is seated as it should be and, at times, eventually have to replace the keyboard. From worn keys not functioning correctly. You could always try to remove the updated drivers and reinstall the original drivers, not the updated ones.

You can get a brand new keyboard from Amazon for less than 30 bucks and comes with screwdrivers to assist installation. I have had good luck with salvaged or new keyboards from eBay but if this is your main system I would go with a new unit. Laptop keyboards get funky just by their nature. Food, dirt, spills, careless lid closures, you see what I mean. Just take your time and be gentle when reconnecting the ribbon connectors. Get directions from iFixit or a YouTube video if available. There might even be a service manual in PDF somewhere online. You can usually dig one up.
All that is supposing it's not an unintentional software keyboard remapping with your update, that is quite possible too. Had it happen to me last week, was bear to figure out what had done the reconfigure.

Thanks so much for the advice.

I reinstalled windows again. Now it works. I think the keyboard is going and working intermittently. I will monitor. If the keyboard keys are problamatic again. I think I will have to change the keyboard.
