Turn off Firewall in Windows 10​

Step 1. Click on the Start menu or press Windows + S to open the search window, then enter the keyword Firewall => now click on Windows Defender Firewall in the results.

Step 3. A new window will appear, where you can enable/disable the Firewall on your Windows 10.

Turn on firewall: Check Turn on Windows Defender Firewall in both Private networks and Public networks. Finally, click OK to complete.

Turn off Firewall Windows 10 CMD​

In addition to the traditional approach, you can also try using commands to control whether to turn on or off your computer’s Firewall. Usually, we use Command Prompt, you can also use Powershell with the same command.

Step 1. Now you need to run Command Prompt as Admin, by pressing Windows + S => enter search with the keyword cmd => and right-click on Command Prompt => select Run as administrator.

Step 2. Now the command prompt will appear, you do the following to turn on or off Firewall:

Turn on firewall Windows 10: You paste the command “netsh advfirewall set allprofiles state on” into the cmd window and press Enter.

When OK appears, the Firewall is on.

Turn off firewall Windows 10: Enter the command “netsh advfirewall set allprofiles state off” and then press Enter.

If you see OK below, that means firewall is turned off.

Hmmm. That's like leaving the barn door open. If a program needs access you can let it thru manually. Any legit reasons the software instructions will let you know the ports it needs to function. I am trying to think of an instance when you would just drop the curtain so to speak and I can't think of any. There are folks out there running port scans looking for systems to exploit. On top of that if you are running warez, you had better be darn sure that the connections your system is making are legit. You could have had a payload dropped on you waiting for the day you open the door for it.
Yeah I am paranoid, but I have known or been at least aware of some not so decent people on the Net. Just be careful and honestly there is a reason why there is a firewall built into your operating system and it wasn't for Microsoft's benefit.
