I'm 39 now and have been working in the IT Field Professionally since I turned 18 - but consulted for a couple of years before. Never finished HS (completed 10th grade) - got my (G)old (E)nough (D)iploma - I am %100 Self Taught when it comes to computers. First computer was an APPLE II and first PC was an i286 8/16MHz (Turbo) that I broke and had to fix myself which ended up leading to BBS's, phreaking, basic hw hacking, and eventually ended up becoming a computer technician.
I've always loved what I do and have always been good at it - up until 6 years ago I got really sick and was hospitalized over a month and shortly after I was no longer able to hold a full time job because I have savere narcolepsy - which is not an approved illness for disability, even after working various IT Jobs, Retail Jobs both full and part time and loosing them all eventually because of the narcolepsy.
That's my long - short story of me!
