Rooting a Motorola droid m

So i have tried to root my phone on many occasions without any results. I get all the way to where my phone reboots but with success, does anyone have any advice? On another site it was recommended that i reset to factory settings and then try again.
The phone is aMotorola Droid M system
version 98.18.78.XT907.Verizon.en.US
Andriod version4.1.2,
Kernel version 3.0.31-g101ca72
baseband version sm_bp_1010232.020.32.78p

Im not very good with this stuff, but i will ask one friend of mine
