Hello everybody,

In the files explorer of Windows 11, I have got the system buttons (reduce, enlarge, close) in the tabs bar, and there is no title bar.

How can I get the files explorer back as it is illustrated on web sites, i.e. with the system buttons in the title bar, and with the tabs bar below it ?

Windows 11 - 25H2 - [version 10.0.26200.8039] - SFC and DISM done
E-Set Internet Security 19.1.12.0
MalwareBytesAntiMalware
PowerToys (up-to-date)

I wish by asking it like that I can avoid what DuckDuckGo proposes me, to install the search bar in the taskbar of Windows, or review any possible web browser.

I would recommend the program StartBackAll.

I use it and have a handy tab control at the top of each window. Its a small fee to register, but its for life and changes windows 11 to look like windows 10.

I just installed it and used the default settings, I prefer quality of use.

I have to share screens and take screen shots of various aspects of Windows 11 boxes. What happened to having standardized navigation with the now called file explorer among features that go way back in Windows history. There is no reason or logic why Microsoft thinks it's ok to mess around with something as basic as file explorer. The various layouts do not speed access to explorer's various tasks.
I guess that's what Windows 11 has tried to do to legitimize it's existence and it is one poor-ass try. It's what's under the hood and it's performance that really counts. Replacing easy to understand single word navigation to pretty little icons that sometimes do not make much sense at all, but that's now the way it is.
Gimmie a break Microsoft. Do you think you will attract new users with the dumpster fire of the GUI you are shipping with current versions of Windows. Back to basics Microsoft, make your users get that old feel back that was lightening fast to navigate and highly productive....please?

So, if I understand, I am not alone to have the problem ...
Yeah if you fool around with the settings. That's the thing Win 11 let's you goof around with the GUI to the point it becomes very hard to navigate. It may look cool but.....

On Microsoft's site there is a page on this, where somebody asked the question, but they did as for the font size : they locked the page so nobody can ever have an answer.

So, I tried StartAllBack, but ... I waited for an interface to select what I wanted "back", but instead ... everything, is "started back".

I have got a title bar, but a ribbon with very tiny fonts indeed.

Well after that I used WinAeroTweaker to see what could be done with it.

In the Windows parameters I played with the scaling. Well anywhere the ribbon of the new explorer ignores the scaling.

I had to modify the scaling and put it back to get something readable, except on the ribbon.

After doing all that I discovered an dialog box for the StartAllBack parameters.

So, I got back the title bar of my explorer, and had to spend time to play with other parameters. So, thanks Diguelo.

I presume I have to click somewhere to say the problem is solved ?

In fact it will have to come and go. I depress Windows E, and I see an explorer with no title bar. It seems several explorers are installed, and the one that opens depends on ... several circumstances.

Well it seems now I kept the explorer with a title bar, nice, this was the object of the thread.
At a moment during the bounce-rich process, I saw my system clock readable, in the down-right corner of the screen.
I do not dare to modify anything now that mainly the system works, but this means that somebody knows how to have a readable font for the clock. So, if you know that without modifying anything else, it can be nice although of course I installed a windowed clock for a while.

For the clock format, this is the work of ElevenClock.
A few slight defaults, for instance I have to choose between the seconds and the default colour, I shall have to install a shortcut in shell:startup although it was planed to be done, but now the Windows clock is readable.
