sony vaio vgn-a417m recovery discs

I wonder if anyone can help,
my old vaio hard drive crashed and burned so I replaced the hhd thinking I still had the recovery discs but :'( they are gone and when I asked sony for help they told me that because I did not buy the hhd from them they would not help! is there any way I can get or find a download for the discs? please help as I use this computer for all my car diagnostic work. many thanks in advance

just download a new operating system like windows 7 and then you can use a program like tweakbit driver updater to fix all the missing drivers. This is your best bet the chances of someone having your exact recovery disk are next to none since a new operating system is cleaner anyway.

Install any OS and download drivers from sony product support page.
