One way of speeding up Windows 11 File Explorer I have found is by using a program called StartAllBack. It provides the old context menu and explorer if you leave it at default settings and this overcomes any lag experienced by the file explorer. Incidentally, before I put this on, it got worse after I thought I cured it.
So if you still like rounded corners as well. but don't mind a change elsewhere, give it a try.
