USB C ports are huge problem. We have a fleet of Dell Latitude and Precision laptops at work. In order to get multiple monitor support you have to do so thru a docking station. The Docking station has a pretty stout cable that connects to the USB C port. Eventually the port begins to fail. Not completely, just a contact pin loses full connection to start with. It's a tough problem to troubleshoot. Add to that the docking station cable has problems as well. It's probably partially some bad engineering. You still have to wonder something along the lines of the old serial connectors, possibly updated to a thinner profile would be a better solution. The USB C connector is ok for what was used for initially but seems in it's current configuration and usage it's incapable of absorbing the wear and tear users subject it to.
Microsoft is addressing the problems that some of the current configuration drivers have, Microsoft needs to get a better handle of Windows drivers perhaps distibuting them thru the Microsoft store at no charge to the end user.
