I recently upgraded to Windows 11, and I’m facing some software issues that I can’t seem to fix on my own. Some apps keep crashing or won’t open properly, and I’m also getting error messages during updates.

Has anyone else experienced similar problems? How did you troubleshoot or solve them? I’d really appreciate any tips or advice on how to get Windows 11 running smoothly.

Thanks in advance!

Have you tried re-installing the apps.? I would expect that upgrade can cause this type of issue and I would expect to have to re-install all applications, let me know if this helps.

Welcome to Windows 11! App crashes and update errors are pretty common after upgrading. I recommend first running the built-in Windows Troubleshooters for apps and updates. Also, check for the latest Windows and driver updates - sometimes outdated drivers cause crashes. If issues persist, try resetting or reinstalling the problematic apps. Running a system file check (sfc /scannow) via Command Prompt can also help fix corrupted system files. If you want, I can guide you through any of these steps! Let me know what apps are causing trouble.

Now I know Im not an Ambasador of Windows 11 and will no doubt receive flak from you guys for this BUT >>>>>

Windows 11 does exactly what it says on the tin, IF >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

This is going to confuse some and down right brass others off but here goes.

Windows 10 was what I had installed on my Desktop PC. I decided months back when the demise of Windows 10 came over the horizon. So I took the step everyone on windows 10 should do if you are swapping OS.

====================================================
Make a disk image backup. Backup the entire C Drive (or where ever you parked the OS Boot) to an external media or internal your choice beofre you attempt this.
====================================================

Ok if youve got a licensed copy of Widows 10 installed (Important) first and formost, you should have been getting an upgrade notification if you have. If not go to Windows Update And it should be in there.

Commence the update, go take the dog a walk to the next town or park instead of sitting and watching it. (Im paranoid so it got watched at every move)

Ok so your in WIndows 11. Personally i hate Windows 11 menu system so I used a utility program called STARTALLBACK and et vuala I got Windows 11 with the windows 10 menu and task bar system. Think it cost me $15 to activate it but whatever.

Ok technical time boys and girls.

Now we all should have heard of Visual C/ C++ and Visual Basic libraries. These are what assist your software to transfer data in around the PC. Im a developer of software and other stuff so all my libraries are installed.

Id recommend you download the libraries and install them AFTER youve installed Windows 11. REASON:_ MY UPDATE DID NOT UPDATE THESE LIBRARIES AND I GOT A LOT OF ERRORS ON SOME OF MY WINDOWS 10 PROGRAMS APPS ETC.

C libraries should be all you will need to install. Depending on the programs or apps, the date of your apps will determine the date of the needed libraries.

As a developer I have all of them installed and it does make a massive difference. Ive heard folk whining and moaning about incompatability, well I use programs and code dated from 1992 - present day and every single one of them works flawlessly. Not had a single BSOD (god im going to miss that) or lockup yet on any program I have installed.

Just for the Nay sayers that will no doubt say "Ah but what junk you running old timer !"

Asus ROG Motherboard STRIX B760-F
Intel series 12 12700 at 4.6GHz O/C
64 GB DDR 5 CORSAIR Vengeance
Pair of GTX 4070 Vid Cards
Sound Blaster Z Sound Card.
Corsair 1000W Modular PSU
Full set of 5 AIr Fans (I dont do liquid cooling it isnt necessary the fans do the work)

It will run any game thrown at it at a 60 FPS or better while its doing film processing and listening to my music library 130GB of it at random on 2 curved and 1 flat screen

So, once you have the ;ibrary redist files installed Id recommend doing a FULL driver checkup on your machine, I use the Ashampoo Driver UPDATER, think it cost me $15 ish.

So get the base install correct and all you software from the Windows 10 installation should be working flawlessly hacked cracked backed or otherwise genuine.
