On my Windows 11 PC, I’m getting the error 'No audio device is installed.' I’ve already tried the built-in troubleshooter and followed the recommended steps, but the issue still persists. What further troubleshooting steps can I take to fix this problem?

In the device mgr, (rt click start -> device manager) do you see your sound device (realtek, Intel, etc.) listed and no yellow marks? If yes, move on, if no go to either system or mobo manufacturer and ook for audio driver.

If yes, what type of sound device are you trying to hook up? Without knowing, that is probably where the problem lies. Try hooking up a conventional set of speakers via a phone plug and see what happens.

I take it this is a fresh install of Win 11. Sometimes the Microsoft supplied driver is problematic. Go get the OEM driver from the manufacturer. I have personally encountered that problem.

there is no issue if a plugin device is connected , however once the device disconnected thats the the time the same issue exist. tried to update the drivers however, the issue still not resolve

In my case the sound driver is updated when my video card has an update and when this happens I have to select the sound source to get sound.

That's Windows 11 acting naturally. The audio device that Windows is referring to is an audio output device. Every non-laptop system acts the same way. I had to attach a set of speakers to a system that I only access remotely if I wanted to have audio playback from the remote system. All the other minis I own have a small built-in speaker so I never get the "No audio device is installed" warning from them and they play sound on the connected system.

If you use HDMI = Video when it updates so does the sound settings, you will have to right click on the sound icon the select sound settings and click on the sound device that you use. Also one can then download Equilizer APO select the sound device then turn the knob up 20db basically full and the sound will be WORKING AS EXPECTED.
