Windows Mail - lost my Sent emails

I have been using Mail for several years, happy with most features. Yesterday I opened Mail, sent a couple of emails, then found that all Sent emails had disappeared except for the ones I had just sent and one from several weeks ago. I've checked all other folders without success. Emails that I sent today appeared OK in Sent. Can I recover the lost emails? Two other accounts using the same Netspace account are OK.

Well, what kinda eMail program do you use? Or do you use some free-mail via the www?

Use Thunderbird Portable.

Never trust mail servers in the cloud or "out there" to save your data. Download to your computer. I agree that Thunderbird is pretty decent.
BUT...even TB can screw up.

Once a month I backup mails with free Mailstore Home. It can also access direct from online servers if you prefer. It has built-in Search and viewer better than TB.
In less than a minute I can pull up old entries from mails many years back, based on keywords, phrases, To or From, subject.
And, backup to a different physical hard drive. Like a removable USB drive.

BUT...even TB can screw up.

Once a month I backup mails with free Mailstore Home. It can also access direct from online servers if you prefer. It has built-in Search and viewer better than TB.
In less than a minute I can pull up old entries from mails many years back, based on keywords, phrases, To or From, subject.
And, backup to a different physical hard drive. Like a removable USB drive.

He speaketh the truth. I would hate to tell you how many sad faces I have seen through the years when their email programs somehow trashed their old emails.
Word to the wise? Most email programs are not data base programs. They store you emails in a sequential file (one long string of records). Problem is if the string gets corrupted it's hard to impossible to reconstruct it. Our buddy philalethes speaks wisdom. Email programs are not file cabinets. Get on a scheduled program of backing the data files up in a safe place. Off-site if they are that important. Oh yeah and for goodness sakes don't archive videos and photos in your email program. Microsoft has conveniently supplied folders where they belong. Those bulky vid and photo files bloat the heck out of your data program and make it that much more vulnerable to corruption.

Agreed, a nice little very handy file to have. Saved me many a time.

I started using Protonmail about a year and a half ago and haven't looked back. It was lacking at first with the free version until I coded my own sieve filter but I've loved the platform and the security ever since.
