I just ordered a rebuild kit for my monochrome HP Laserjet 1320nw. It was made in the day when HP ruled the printer industry. It's getting pretty old but has been faithful.
My GF would really like a color printer, no way will I waste money on an Inkjet printer.
So what's your experience? I wouldn't mind an all in one as long as it doesn't break the bank.
Now don't be shy. Please post your experiences and share your knowledge.

I have color and black printers, both Brother Printers over 5 years old and still perform like new. I do maintain them, especially cleaning the color printer I usually clean all ink powder residues and wipe the drums of excess ink.

Im still using an all in one Samsung 48 printer, scanner, wifi, coffee stand. Think its on its third or fourth set of internals now, but it works like it did god knows when I bought it, so im not complaining.

I still fail to see (I dont really just looks good in print) why when you print Black or monochrome the printer includes Yellow Cyan and Red to emphasise what black really is. (Not of course that it wastes your toner, I wouldnt dare intimate this fact)

Ive had 2 HP printers, an all in one and a standalone and both got scrapped for the same reason, the mixing of inks in the printing sump and eventual weeping into the original cartridges.

Bought a rather snazzy Laser double sided printer then it turned out the refills suddenly went up in price to more than the printer was bought for, never saw that scam coming till it was toooooooo late. Sorry did I say Scam, I meant business strategy, i do pologise, (this isnt a typo its like most printers important info is always mising)

color lasers are a bit difficult to calibrate and mantain calibrated, the color reproduction suffers with air temperature and humidity..
otherwise, the cost per print is very low, compared to inkjets...

Thanks guys, I really appreciate your input. I ordered a repair kit (pick-up roller and sheet separator) for my HP 1320nw. I think I pushed the old girl over the edge printing A4 formant Ethernet cable labels. That printer has been been trusty for years, the rebuild should fix it up. I look at the cost of a bank of color laser cartridges and shake my head. Inkjet printers are so messy and the ink is water soluble and the images are easily damaged. Fingers crossed the rebuild kit should straighten things out.
Diguelo brings up a good point regarding color lasers consume those expensive color cart.
