Mac OS relies on the strength of the Linux community to keep them safe. I have run across some Apple modifications in the past that kind of well, were stupid. One involved the incompatibility of an OWC drive which was functionally identical to the Apple OEM product it was replacing but it didn't work. OWC's engineers have already identified the problem as a flaw in the Apple coding, OWC engineers had requested multiple times for a code fix. All the got back from Apple was a big HUH. OWC issued instructions for fixing the flaw finally. So much for how great Apple based O/S'es are.
Please don't tell those Apple cult members, they might cry or worse attempt to harm you. After all they paid huge amounts of cash for their hardware.
