What's your opinion, Avast or Windows Security?
My problem with Avast is that it blocks a lot of websites and I uninstalled it.

Good question@ nofire73. What's Avast blocking? Can you reset options in Avast to ignore certain sites/instances? Many A/V security programs are extra sensitive to cracks and keygens to prevent piracy, Windows Security is a great example. The question becomes how to you keep the naughty sites from doing unwanted things yet still retain access and block removal of cracks and keygens. It seems like a never ending game with W.S.
So to answer your question you are better relying on AFFASocial's solution, that is Opera browser with uBlock Origin add-on. uBlock Origin has been blocked by Google Chrome for obvious reasons, it was costing them affiliate/advertising revenue, just as YouTube adblockers are.

Windows Security, with DefenderUI works perfectly well,
No issues at all. No need for anything else & DefenderUI gives a few more functions.

I have been using Edge for years, & I have tried most other browsers & always come back to Edge.
I keep Opera GX & Floop as standby's.

Really? You must not run any pirated programs or you have tweaked the heck out of Defender. I F'ing hate Defender, we are constantly at war. Edge is pretty nosy about your activities, not to say Chrome is not. It's just possible to lock down Chrome a bit better than Edge. Opera with ublock origin is a better solution than either of them. I rely on Malwarebytes and their browser add-on, they work for me. A highly respected forum member doesn't like Malwarebytes, so who knows? Malwarebytes works very well for me with a minimum amount of my intervention.

I'm using the UBlock Origin Lite as well as the Adguard Adblocker extention in Edge. That plus Windows Security & DefenderUI has always worked for me. & I do have a heap of torrented stuff. I'm careful, so I dont have issues.

Anyway, as long as the solutions that we have found for ourselves work.

Avast, just about every brand of spam somewhere on the net has an Avast tag. Last time I bothered to look at the Avast it had a head that linked to MS AV.

If you want an AV Suite that works and is seriously worth the money to invest in your privecy then go with

COMODO INTERNET SECURITY SUITE.

Ive been using it over a decade now and only ever had to look at it erm, never really it does its job.

Interesting. What exactly makes Comodo so invaluable? I do recognize each individual has different browsing habits and for sure exposes their system to a whole bunch of different threats.
Honestly I have been using Malwarebytes for a couple of years now. I must admit I bought my subscription from a crazy cheap deal @ Newegg and got a renewal the same way and I mean really cheap.
That aside I like the fact Malwarebytes doesn't dictate my computing behavior rather than dictate it. Malwarebytes has a spectacular reputation of weeding out malware and not just viruses. I do admit it may not be the most secure suite if you are not
Big factor for me is it tends not to nag you like most personal A/V programs do.

Your turn Diguelo. I am open to your opinion and I respect what you have to say.
