Hi all (anyone whos listening) =)

Tried the Cam 8.4.4 - blocked on firewall etc,

When I load and go to enter software key, Keep getting the message (our activation server is unable to ....blah blah poopy blah)

Couple of questions,

For the serial, do you enter the hyphens? HDBS-SHBS or without HDBSSHBS etc?
For the host exceptions in sys32, do I just put these below the existing entries, or do I delete everything in there and just add ones given?

Unfortunately I encountered the same problem as yourself.
Apart from that, what was missing with the provided keys was the name of a registered user.
Obviously, you could not enter any name, and the supplier of the info did not give any
directions with regards to that. When one needs to activate an installed program you either
be connected or disconnected from the internet. Then you either have only a serial key to enter
in which case that isn't a problem. But if you have to input a registered name that matches the
serial number then that isn't a problem either. But if you put any name then it gets rejected as
it does not match the serial number provided.
Looks like the person that supplied the information with regards to Camtasia left out that important part,
or did not test it to make sure that it worked, hence the problem.

thanks for a reply bud, much appreciated; I'm actually trying to do this for someone else, so glad I'm coming up against same problems - obviously wish there were no problems, is the only route to try down load a keygen? or try another torrent?

Don't despair. I am about to install Camtasia Studio 8.5.2 Build 1999
This comes with what name to use, and a keygen from which I have already
generated a number of serial numbers. It also has a crack which is merely
a hack tool so I deleted it. Will let you know the result ASAP.
Will need to disconnet from the net to apply the Key.

I don't think I am going to waste anymore time on this Camtasia software.
I followed their instructions to the "T" without success.
They asked to make certain changes within a folder ..\ProductData\Techsmith which could not be found,
even in hidden folders. However when trying to run the program it comes up with validation cannot be found, so please use in Trial Mode or get in touch with TechSmith support.
I think that all these downloads with instructions are NBG.
This is the 3rd installation I have done from scratch.
Will uninstall it now for the 3rd time and remove any traces of the program from the registry.

Sounds like what I did, I even replaced the registry with a backup I had before the installation. The only workaround I have found that works is to change the system date to the date I installed Camtasia and it reverts back to the trial. I am at least able to use the program for what I need.

my solution that worked for me -
first - do the recommended steps on the Tech-tools install (ie - hosts file changes and firewall blocking)
and then :

1 . create a text file named : Reginfo.ini

2 . inside the file past these lines:

[RegistrationInfo]
RegisteredTo=Israel
RegistrationKey=KC2AC-ADZAM-CSWAW-NF6XZ-N56F8
ValidationData1=1
ValidationData2=1
ValidationData3=1

3 . save the file and copy it into this location - c:\ProgramData\TechSmith\Camtasia Studio 8

4 . change attribute of the new file to "read only".

-= if there is a file with this name already - replace it with the new file =-


Thats it !

when you fire up camtasia it should run with no problem except telling you it can't get to the upgrade server... and surely we don't wan't it to go there

Really nobody's bothered to reply to that above question and it's been over 4 months?

Even trying to register on your forum was a nightmare. Every time I clicked "Register" it would direct me to some page for signing up for a game. It's a new laptop and I have all the security in the World, so don't even bother telling me I need an AdBlocker. Pile of shit.
