Hello. My old computer suddenly got a corrupted user profile.
Does anyone know if I can use the default NTUSER.DAT file from Winver 2004 to replace a corrupted winver 1903 NTUSER.DAT file?

This works for me- https://appuals.com/ntuser-dat-file-explained/

That's a very good question. It's possible it would work if they were both generated from the exact same account. Did you try to do a system restore to an earlier time? A fresh NTUSER.DAT file would be generated pretty much based on the entries in the registry.
This is a new one to me. How did that file become corrupt in the first place

Doing a system restore should be enough to recover from a damaged NTUSER.DAT. The most obvious reason to get damaged files in a Windows is if you turn off the machine when Windows is writing to the file.
