One Word: Don't. Somehow Apple pulled it off by designing one from the ground up, everything optimized for that environment. The Windows OEMs did not. They cram all the components made for the airy and cool environment of a roomy case and jam them all together.
Having repaired too many to count of these abortions, I can tell you they don't work. They overheat and that is their main issue and cause premature failure of any part heat sensitive. Hard drives, power supplies, displays, all kinds of ICs on the mainboard. They may sound like a good idea and yes Apple pulled it off but at with an expensive price tag. Save yourself some sorrow. Not only do you deal with failures, it's a what you see is what you get like a laptop, no room for expansion. With minis so available now, buy one and mount it to the back of a monitor. It's a much better setup.

In 3 words.

WHAT HE SAID !!!!! ^^^^^^^^^^^^^

The number of pocket PC faults I have to deal with on a daily basis is stupid, a lot of machines spend more time queueing for maintenance and repair than they do working.

The trouble in a lot of situations as Mr Dog points out is the units dont have anywhere near the kind of air flow required to make them keep cool and of course managers see profit margins little machines made to do the job of a fuil on desktop with cooling etc and then the all to often heard "WHAT U MEAN IT DOESNT WORK, ITS A PC ISNT IT" without a quarter of a clue why their £1500 desktop at home quite happily plays patience and freecell all day every day and they expect the same performance out of micro systems.
I had a walk out situation with a design team in my last job they wanted full on graphics and video editing suites installing on pocket PC boxes because they needed the desk space to lay out designs. So I installed them. Installed the required software which in most cases was more than the PC cost, management grinning from ear to ear at their expected bonus rise. They werent expecting my resignation letter and off I went listening to my phone ringing its little heart out and messages being sent by the hundred about "These machines done work!!!"

Only one reply was necessary "NO REALLY, CANT THINK WHY." And off I went, the firm closed down a month later after running interviews for techs to "SAVE THE DAY" the ones that turned up quoting thousand for fixes etc. I even had one Manager come round (Uk phrase here, Cap In HAND) apologising for not listening to me and they were wrong. I just went back to filling in my acceptance from a competitor company to work for them.

When a fireman tells you your house is on fire and you just walk away whistling and not listening counting the fivers as you go, dont be surprised if the guy was trying to help you and you ignored it. Micro PC's belong in one place a kids bedroom to do homework on and a little light gaming before bed. My Grandkids know this and use a kick ass machine built for them for some serious gaming before they have to do homework.
