And it was my fault. It was a video downloader program with a back door. Credit cards, who knows what else. Fortunately I caught it within a couple of hours so was able to block everything. It was a combo of me being lazy and deactivating Defender. Time to get a real sensible antivirus. Learn from my mistakes

Not sure. I was in a hurry to get rid of it. It was setting up a bunch of temp files that would open the back door. I caught it within hours so no permanent harm done. I could tell the attacker was pissed I shut everything down so fast. I bought 3 licenses for Malwarebytes Pro from Newegg for 15 USD so I learned my lesson. I'll keep an isolated box on its own VLAN and a VPN for goofing around with no sensitive info.
