I recently downloaded windows office 1016 which came with an activator. Though lo and behold the activator doesn't work on that particular version. So my question is why would you include an activator that doesn't work? So now I have to search for a different activator. I have over the years downloaded alot of different programs you have made available, so I am surprised about this whole issue. Just thought I should bring this to your attention.

Using unofficial versions of Microsoft Office and third-party activators can lead to issues like this, as they’re often unreliable and potentially unsafe. Activators may not work with all builds and can expose your system to malware. It’s always best to use genuine Microsoft Office to ensure full functionality, updates, and security.

In an enterprise (commercial office environment) you are 100% correct. No reason to expose your business to security exploits for the sake of saving a little investment vs. what hackers could steal from your company.
Granted it appears an individual can purchase an official copy of Microsoft Office for less than 50 USD these days, I have always questioned a private individual had to invest hundreds of dollars for personal use, in some cases required for an unemployed person to apply for jobs.
My first job ironically was taking over a position that the former person was caught by Microsoft installing a pirate copy of Office on a customer's system. It cost my employer $50,000 USD in fines plus legal fees in 1996, something else to keep in mind.
