The clock is ticking.
October 25th is approaching
Your Microwave is going to explode when 00;00 appears on the time display.
Your TV will not work again if you leave it on as it goes past midnight.
Your garage door opener will need a tin opener to get your car out on the morning of 26th October.
God I miss the 2k moey spinners.
Ok 25th October is the day when Microsoft go into overdrive trying to sell you a Windows 11 PC,
TRUTH TIME
Windows ME still works after 28 years, so does XP, 7 , 8, and every other flavour of windows even 3.1. So what does this mean for me and my old Windows 10 machine? It means it will still be working (Barring mechanical and electrical defects. All it means is they will no longer have a help line available to get you out of misery of crashes, (THATS WHAT WE DO HEHEHEHE) you can still reinstall it. Most of us with Win 10 gear will make a USB drive boot of the x86 and x64 variation of the install disk image from MS and no doubt butcher it to suit our needs. Or just keep it for prosperity.
Do I want windows 11?
If windows 10 does what you need then nope you dont. Games software and utilities still work and will still run on a win 10 machine.
What does TPM stop me from doing on Win 11?
Trusted Program Module, I have yet to find a sigle program or file or (coughs loudly) crack that wont run or gets stopped. You get asked "Do you want to run this" type of question and you answer Yes. After that I have installed all the runtime files from 2005 owards for C++ and VB but I do a lot of coding so I need them. The horror stories ive read about on win 11 stopping you from enjoying yourself etc so far is a load of "Cows swinging things between its back legs" (Uk Translation = Bollocks). Ive yet to come across a file, program hack or piece of my own code that wont run on it.
My only concession to going to Windows 11 is a new Motherboard
ASUS ROG 760
Rest is out of my old machine
M.2 drives 5TB worth
NAS drive 2 x 4TB
3060 nvidia card
Audigy SB Fx card
on and some pretty AURA Lighting fans and strips.
