I own a TP-Link 6 router that I turned into an access point. I replaced the TP-Link as a router a long time ago. I replaced it with an enterprise grade 2.5Ghz router. The enterprise router gives me great control of what is coming and going and filter certain types of traffic.
I am reluctant to replace the TP-Link AP. It provides a full speed connection any place in my home.
So I understand the confusion that what is being rumored about. As that article states in tests, the security of the TP-Link is similar to the other competitive brands.
So where do our members here think? Are you going to ditch your TP-Link equipment and replace it with another brand of hardware and toss the TP-Link or is it a wait and see? Quite a confusing problem. One thing TP-link has always been the lower if not the lowest price in it's category, so a trade up may be costly.
