I'm familiarizating myself with Outlook in Wndows and installed Outlook app. It works and next step is Outlook.com where I can send emails but can't receive any at all. Tried solutions from the web but it doesn't work because things they recommend don't exist with me, tabs or other things so how do I get things to work. I can't even find where the IMAP setting is.

An operator called One.com. All works fine in Outlook app but only sending works in Outlook.com.

Where do I find the IMAP or POP settings for Outlook.com?

Enable POP or IMAP access in Outlook.com

If you want to use POP or IMAP to access your email in Outlook.com, you'll first need to enable access.

  1. Select Settings > Mail > Forwarding and IMAP.
  2. Under POP and IMAP, toggle the slider for Let devices and apps use POP or Let devices and apps use IMAP to ON depending on the account you are enabling.
  3. Select Save.

Thats's already done.

We have Outlook repair tools that will likely fix this, do a DuckDuckGo, google, or whatever search you use. Search for OUTLOOK REPAIR TOOL FREE, FYI Outlook is the most hacked email in the world, along with hotmail.com. I have not used it in probably 20 years. I only use Google for my email ONLY, or I create one from my hosted sites that have unlimited email, these are usually spam and hack free no worries or issues unlike the mentioned sites above.

Outlook

Microsoft is investigating an Outlook bug causing desktop app crashes, high system resource usage, and preventing users from logging into their accounts.

While the company said these ongoing issues only affect European customers, users worldwide have since reported experiencing the same sign-in and app instability problems.

"We're investigating an issue in which users in Europe may be experiencing crashing, not receiving emails or observing high memory usage when using the Outlook client," the company said.

"We're analyzing data from customers experiencing crashes and high memory usage when using the New Outlook desktop app. We're reviewing service telemetry and reproducing the issue internally to develop a mitigation plan."

According to some reports, the same problems also impact Outlook on the web (OWA), with the app freezing and not loading for some users in the United States and elsewhere.

Affected Outlook (new) customers have also seen the app displaying alerts that advise them to restart the system because of high memory consumption.

In an incident report added to the admin center (tracked as MO907654), the company also said that these ongoing issues may be blocking users from logging into other Microsoft 365 services.

"Were analyzing service telemetry, specifically networking data and authentication specific to the Netherlands, and further investigating potential impact to other Microsoft 365 services," Redmond said.

The company also tweeted via its official Microsoft 365 Status Twitter account that it identified a potential memory management issue that may be responsible for this outage.

"We're obtaining memory dumps and logs from Outlook client telemetry data for analysis to determine our next steps," it said.

In August, Microsoft mitigated an Azure outage that took down multiple services for customers across North and Latin America for more than two hours.

Update October 11, 07:29 EDT: Five hours into the outage, Microsoft applied a configuration change and said telemetry data confirmed that it fixed the Outlook issues.

"After extended monitoring and addressing lingering impact, we've declared the incident mitigated," Microsoft said on X (formerly Twitter).

"If users are still experiencing impact, please refresh/restart your Outlook sessions. Further details can be found within the admin center under MO907654."

I ran the repair tool but there were no files after the search. Is this tool for Outlook.com as well?

I have to ask a couple of questions. This is your own domain. It's not on some blacklist anywhere is it? I had a problem with one of our members domain was getting flagged not because he was a spammer or hacker, just questionable (completely non-sexual in nature) it saw during a typical bot scan saw some titles. Just a thought.
If your email is coming thru your web sites provider using your domain, you really should be using outlook that is integrated into Office. I mean really you are in the big leagues now and you are using Gmail or it's equivalent. One.com may have some odd protocols so it might be worth checking with them.
My point here is something unusual is taking place, a very uncommon occurrence.
So if you insist using outlook.com I would suggest directing your question to one.com and see if they can shed some light on your difficulties.

I had a chat with One.com but they couldn't help me (of course) and referred me to Microsoft so that is a dead end I suppose.

No doubt. Honestly your problem has me scratching my head. I'll keep thinking about it. It has to be some sort of protocol mismatch, I can't figure out what that might be.

When I thought I'd try Outlook app instead of the One.com proprietary web email it worked right off the bat. Then I tried Outlook.com and sending worked immediately but receiving did not. The problem is that I can't check the settings for Outlook.com - where did it take the settings from in the first place? Anyway, here are the one.com settings for email:

Incoming server - IMAP
Server: imap.one.com
Port: 993
Security: SSL/TLS

Outgoing server - SMTP
Server: send.one.com
Port: 465
Security: SSL/TLS

It seems as if the problem is gone.l I updated to Windows 11 24H2 yesterday and when I tested today I can now both send and receive email in Outlook.com!

Go figure. I started using outlook just to see what was going on. Windows 11, I am not surprised.

I came back to my Pc after a couple of hours now and found that an email from Sketchup forum and a notification for this forum had not got throught to my inbox so I'm back on square one again. Regular Outlook got the emails.
