Pretty much applies to the networking folks. Some versions of Prolific's PL-2303 chipset was (?) EOL in 2019 (still shipping in "new" cable sets) will not officially work with Win 11. Prolific provided a "driver" to Microsoft that ships with Win 11 that just states that this chipset is not supported in Win 11 and contact the cable's manufacturer. Bullshit! There is no reason why it shouldn't work. What changes have been made that would render this chipset driver's not work?
Anyway I figured a way around it. Remove it by uninstalling it from the device manager but takes these steps. Begin the uninstall and check delete the drivers. After you have checked the box disconnect the USB cable then finish the uninstall.
Google for the latest Win 10 drivers and install them before you replug the cable and life will be good..
This is nothing more than an attempt at forced obsoletion and Microsoft as become a player in the scheme. It's a bunch a nonsense and I intend to no longer purchase products containing Prolific products.
