Really need some assiatance

I'm not a real computer guy, but here I go.
I have an HP with Windows 11. The computer opens up, and the internet works fine.
The problem is that when I click the bottom left corner, the start button, nothing happens.
The same goes for the search button next to the start button.
I can click and click with no results.
Can someone assist me with this issue?

Can you access the start menu by pressing the Windows key on your keyboard? Or by pressing CTRL + ESC?

It's probably related to most likely video resolution or scale settings under the Display Settings.
It's more common than you think with laptops.
I also would check video drivers and make sure you have the current version.

What's going on is Windows isn't registering the same video information that the display drivers are rendering on the screen. The end result is your Window GUI is cropping the edges off what is being displayed.

Once you have confirmed your graphics drivers are current, take the video scale back to 100% and start from there. I doubt this problem has anything to do with the fact your system is a HP.

The start button on the menu in Windows 11 is NOT in the bottom left corner it closer to the centra bottom of the screen if you are using the default window appearance.

Press the Start key on your keyboard.
