Well I got ahold of a Pixel 5G phone at a steal from Google Fi, just like my last phone. Deal was I keep the phone on Google Fi service for 120 days. My plan was to port over to Tello a MVNO of T-Mobile, they have an unlimited 5G plan for $26 a month or so. I haven't used any mobile data on the phone with Google, it's $10/GB which is bullsh!t.
Now I am reading that 5G on Tello is No Bueno which makes sense since as a MVNO you are always in line for the towers T-Mobile's bandwidth. So there are alternatives which I am looking at as my phone become eligible next week.
What gives me a chuckle is this is yet an example of help desk script monkeys and how they are encouraged to lie by their employer indirectly. FedEx Ground delivery pulls somewhat the same stunts by their 3rd party subcontractors that drive the last mile to deliver to your residence with a slew of "It wasn't my fault it didn't get delivered" excuses. Bad idea since the consumers reading those lame responses piss the customers off although they don't count as demerits against the subcontractors performance and it looks great to the C level managers.

That’s not fair if T-Mobile is not telling the truth. People should know what they are really getting. Companies must be honest with their customers.

On my next Pixel, a 9a from Visible aka Verizon. Ends up costing me $200 + 60 days service. (30 days @$20/mo. and 30 days free, friend referral bonus). Man things have changed. I remember when I was experimenting with signs in physicians offices with content remotely loaded via cellular modem from our servers.
Sprint was our partner carrier for the project in 2005. I remember our sales representative telling me although she was making great money at the time, said cellular was turning into a whore's market and she was moving on. Boy was she right.
Somebody explain to me Trump mobile. They are a MVNO of T-Mobile, just like many others. Tello, my carrier is $20-25/mo with unlimited (not really after 50GB/mo you get throttled WAY down).
Speaking of whores, how about Trump kids feat. Don Jr.'s as Trump Mobile. Just another T-mobile MVNO except the unlimited service is a whopping $47.45/mo for the plain vanilla unlimited plan. The big question mark is the "Made in America" Trump phone itself. What son Erik has been parading about as the T1 phone is of Chinese manufacture, most likely a Chinese-made Wingtech REVVL 7 Pro 5G.
Soon the Pixel 9a and I will hide away in obscurity in the very quiet remanent of Sprint, Tello. My head hurts!

Yeah, MVNOs like Tello are great on price but can struggle with deprioritized data, especially during peak times on T-Mobile’s network. Totally get the frustration—marketing often paints a very different picture than real-world use. And yeah, the way some companies script support and offload blame is frustratingly common. Transparency would go a long way, but sadly it’s rarely prioritized.
