Running programs of a questionable nature (we all know what that means ), I always go for a nice clean install. First enjoy the speed of your system before you start bogging it down, then start loading it up once again.
It's also a good time to seek out the latest vetted version of whatever you plan to reinstall. Vetted in this case is software with a group tag, and others have already loaded it.
You folks trying to keep an old drive going, save it for your data storage and get or start using a reliable C drive that doesn't have a million hours of usage logged. Losing your boot drive sucks and sometimes comes at the most inappropriate time. Make a commercial uninstall one of your first loads so you can painlessly fix and funky things you encounter during your reloading process.
