I came across this gem. A known MS engineer and tech guru has spoken out about MS and this stupid AI thing.

Watch the YouTube before it gets taken down ( and I dont say this likely, this guy I know personally we have met a few times over the years.)

People think Im crazy about not wanting AI, this has been in my sights since the internet was born.

Ask yourself this. Do you want someone controlling what you send in emails, monitor what you say to your family and friends over fracebook.

Freedom of choice when Microsoft Officially said "We are developing an AI companion to be with you, see, what you see, hear what you hear" what they didnt say is that it uses all this to set the type of adverts shoved in your face each day.

The incursions mentioned in the video, I have already implimented, Bitlocker is dead, I have a multi boot system and can use Virtual drives as and when I want.

Welcome to the WIndows Future. Yeha right.

Ive been working with Linux to run windows stuff or indeed its own stuff.

Well that pushed me over the edge. Time to seriously venture into Linux.
I have been complaining about the erosion of our privacy and being turned into a commodity for sale to the highest bidder. Time to put my money where my mouth is.
The current US government just shows you how much your information can be used against certain people. I do not wish to be one of those people who become categorized. Look at the current crop of polls. It's obvious those respondents are cherry picked for the responses that they are anticipated to give. So much for random opinions these days. :(

How things should be.

Turning off Bitlocker in New Laptops or PC's should be a farely simple event.

In the search next to start button enter MANAGE BITLOCKER this opens the screen above. Now if some nice unscrupulous installer on a bonus run from MS has installed it they will have given the "Maximum peotection " speech in their sales jargon and installed it with it on.

I upgraded from WIndows 10 and deactivated it on entry.

What exactly is Bitlocker, well it takes your drive and encrypts it. Ties it to your Windows account and of course gives Microsoft support direct access to your data from the get go. Did you ask for this, NO, is it something thats needed, NO. Ive caught a couple of MS connections trying to hack my system this month and trying to turn Bitloacker back on, sorry MS, Ive been in the game a long time. I have all the security I need.

As for the TPM, in a way this chip is a useful tool to have as it prevents hacks and spyware being installed in the first instance. However it isnt that intuitive and my WIn Office install (Courtesy of certain parties ) works without a problem. As do all my programs from other sources and my own code too.

A word of warning
TURNING OFF BITLOCKER IF IT IS ACTIVE ON ALL YOUR DRIVES, CAN TAKE A LONG TIME TO DECRYPT YOUR FILES FROM THE JUNK MICROSFT TURNED IT INTO BACK TO STUFF YOU CAN USE AND READ, COPY AND DO WHAT YOU WANT WITH. IF STARTED DO NOT TURN OFF YOUR PC/LAPTOP UNTIL THE PROCESS IS FINISHED.

DOING THIS WILL BRICK YOUR SSD / HDD ,

Oh and for the record the drive if Bitlocker is in use you wont be bale to backup to an external drive, internal drives that arent bitlocker active or indeed anything Microsoft feels should be accessible to them at all times. BACKUP to the cloud and you may as well send a copy of the backup to the New York Times, London Times, Tokyo Gazzette and generally anyone in the world, online backups are FULLY accessible by MS who surprisingly have your decryption key and your account details to hand at all times.

And dont get me started about AI.

I SAID DONT !!!!!

Hope this helps you out, remember all new gear will arrive encrypted by bitlocker. Gamers will find a 20ms decryption to each command added to their latency.

If in doubt build your own machine and run the software OS you want, not what Microsoft expect.
