Re: Windows XP Professional SP3 2013/2014 [Support]

<t>Wishing the best for 2015 and thank you for this Forum putting your valuable knowledge available for simple, people like me not versed on computers.

My Laptop is a Gateway 1.80Ghz/ 4GB/ 32bit/ 300GG memory,
Current OS is Vista Home SP2. 300G = 290G of Local Disk + 10G Recovery Disk
I want to have two OS in my Laptop: Vista + XP on separate partitions.

What I did until now:
1.- I Downloaded XP Pro SP3 + burned it on a CD to be able to install it on the new partition on my Laptop.

2.- I used EasyBCD2.2, Also downloaded DotNetFramework4.0 to choose which partition to use during start up. My 300GG was splitted in 250G as local and 40G where the XP and other design softwares are going to be located far away from Centinels and similars.

3.- With the Bios menu selected to start reading CD/DVD instead the hard drive to be able to Install XP using the CD/DVD but the supposed announcement of: press any key to read the CD never happened and my PC continued to Vista.

4.- I also tried to install it saving it on the news partition but process was not successful since program version wan no compatible.

Questions:

Do you recommend at this point of troubleshooting to upgrade better Vista to Win 7 and then install XP on new partition,
it will be easier that way? A PC technician offered me to do it from but putting Win 7 instead Vista, and then installing on the new partition XP. Is it easier that way?

Would you give me the easiest + more intuitive option please. I want to learn.

If Vista gives lots of problems to people like me not versed on computers, and if with Win 7 is less complicated, then give me please instruction step by step of how to install XP with pre existing Win 7 updated.
I'll find the way to update it from Microsoft guidance (They already made a diagnostic of my PC and it is ready for the Win 7 Upgrade).

Best regards
Re: Windows XP Professional SP3 2013/2014 [Support]

<t>Hi,

burnt the Iso in a cd and installed your XP to a Sony Vaio netbook with win7 after formatting the disc. But after "welcome" window, this error code appears and does not let me through every time I try to enter the users window showing the same error code:

"A problem is preventing windows from accurately checking the license for this computer. Error Code: 0X8007002"

I could enter in "safe mode" but I do not know how to avoid that problem.

Thanks</t>

Re: Windows XP Professional SP3 2013/2014 [Support]

<t>I forgot to tell that during installation an error ocurred:

SET UP CAN NOT COPY THE FILE: OEMBIOS.BIN

I skipped the step and everything went smooth until the above reported problem.

Thanks</t>

Problem solved. Error when copying the ISO into CD. Perfect installation with USB Pendrive.

But no drivers for the some components as the Wireless Card so needed another computer to download it. After installing driver everything updated and no more problems. Running fast and smoothly.

Thanks!
