word documents on separate hd's

Office 2010. PC os is on an ssd and I have my word documents on a separate mechanical hd. Most of those files are not used very often at all. I am regularly using basically one document and about 3 others some. Is there a way to put some of my document files on the ssd and have it open off, and be saved on the ssd and still have the other documents open when I need to access them from the mechanical hd? Without having to make extra selections to access them of course. I could try this just on my own but I would rather get some guidance so I don’t end up with a problem or mess if it can’t be done.

Sure first designate a folder you want to store the Word files on your SSD. Then after you open the document on your mech. HD, use the "save as" feature in Word and point it to the already designated folder. That will do it. The next time you need the Word file, open your designated SSD folder choose the correct file you previously saved and away you go!
