This is from Microsoft directly. I had a problem installing a program from Google (a remote desktop feature).
Nobody anywhere could tell me what was happening including Google. In fact Google knew there was a problem but were very dismissive and offered no solution.
Then I ran across this thread which leads to a Microsoft troubleshooter.
--> The thread is here <---

Like magic after I ran this troubleshooter no more problems. I don't know exactly what it does other than take Microsoft's word, BUT IT WORKS!
Give this a try. It beats banging your head against the wall.

Remote Desktop software, get yourself a free account at Teamviewer.

I used to use the business model on there when I was full time repair work, saved me days of travelling each week. Now I just keep a free account open and service my family PC and Mac network wherever they are in the UK / World.

Microsoft started sulking when their "PCAnywhere" software uptake fell apart due to a lack of support (I cant believe I just said that) and high license costs. Plus the fact that the freeware and open source software available at the time naturally took custom.

UltraVNC is a good goto program as it has a One shot file you can send by email to make a destroyable client on the target persons system. Security is an issue and because of those wonderful Asian idiot in New Delhi has become something of a (im not going any further its making me angry)
