I wouldn't use bit locker. When I repaired systems there was some real nightmare's when trying to remove data from damaged disks. As I always said to customers, "Are you in the CIA or NSA and you have secrets to hide?"
 
Buy a new Laptop BITLOCKER is likely to be enabled.

I just updated from WOindows 10 to 11 and there it was weeks after I didnt know it had activated, I didnt turn it on.
