Hi everyone,

With so many online accounts connected to our email addresses, it's worth checking whether our information has appeared in a known data breach.

Does anyone regularly check their email addresses for exposed data? I've found that email breach checkers can be a useful starting point. PureVPN's Dark Web Scanner is another option for checking known email exposures:

If your email appears in a breach, consider changing reused passwords, enabling two-factor authentication, and reviewing recent account activity.

What tools or methods do you use to keep your accounts secure?

Good reminder! I’d also recommend checking whether your email has appeared in known data breaches. Tools like purevpn’s dark web scanner can help identify potential exposures. Have you tried it, or do you prefer other breach-checking tools?

i usually start with checking known breaches and making sure every important account has a unique password) a password manager and 2FA make things much easier, especially when you have lots of accounts tied to one email

I have a 'junk' email account that I use for a catch all.
I maintain a secure email with one of the more secure email services and rotate them at a specific intervals.
You pretty much have to reconcile yourself that email addresses are constantly being compromised. Those are probably the least secure part of a web page. Users constantly have to interact with that portion of the account that you must surrender your email address to be allowed to access their site. Such is life, be aware and develop a strategy.
