The IT industry realigns post-pandemic levels. Tech Jobs Glut, times are exceptionally tough for H1B workers. Covid brought the good times, plenty of money, plenty of time for gamers. Things are returning to normal more or less. Remote workers didn't require the rush to tech that all the firms thought was coming. It wasn't so bad before, was it? As the government scrambles to get US IT candidates reemployed, rules that govern H1B rules are being reviewed for changes.

Times of India article

Lays off 10,000 workers. Nice didnt know they had that many people knew how to answer a phone and use notepad.

Warehouse work is a good idea. Turn up work go home get paid. Thats my motto these days. No fighting with clients with their "£500, But it only took you 20 minutes to fix" attitude. I do I.T for my employer as and when, on a Pro Rata rate agreed to and signed prior to starting. Rest of the time I do warehouse work and supervising.

I dont mind doing cheap repairs for locals with busted laptops and PC's just to keep my hand in, but making a living off I.T in the UK now relies on Xbox and PS5 skills enmass. Soul destroying

I understand entirely. I am a little old to start warehouse work.
Remote work is a big thing in the US, frankly, I can't stand it. For me I hate being away from the team and being able to stay on top of things. When I did have to deal with remote IT workers, I would find them f$#king off playing on-line games most times. I would hate to manage a group of remote workers.
