Hello,
Directly after upgrade to version 2004 I cannot perform any search.
Tried a lot of things but no success :
- used troubleshooter
- restart option
- disabled bing from w10 search
- reset option
- rebuild index settings
- disabled cortana from w10 search
sfc /scannow and running Malewarebytes did give any problem
Before to go back on W10 1909 version I would ask if somebody has idea's ?
Regards
use W10 Pro, on HP laptop probook 6570b
P.S. something odd took place : in system info instead of HP 6570b it was noted as HP 6200 Pro SFF (which is a desktop)
p/s free ringtone

Hi,

1.Click on start, go to control panel.
2.Open administrative tools, right click on services and click on run as administrator.
3.Scroll down for Windows search service, check if it is started.
4.If no, then right click on the service and click on start.

Check if it helps.

I'm sure you've done this but just in case.
If your cursor is blinking in the search bar, you may have to turn on some settings.
Go to Settings - Search
There are two settings: in Permission and History make sure you turn on search history on this device and the other setting in Searching Windows you can turn on Enhanced mode to search entire PC.

If you get tired of Windows Search and want something better try my GrepWin tool.
