MS Office Pro Plus 2024 Thumper - Leonem trojan detected - False detection or should I worry?

Hey all,
As said in the title, windows AV notified of Leonem trojan in MS Office Pro Plus 2024 from Thumper download.
I have typically in the past ignored these warnings from trusted folx like Thumper, but after one bad experience in recent past which really messed me up, I am feeling extremely cautious. Should I be worried and try a different dl version, or ignore because it will always pop up with a warning for this as a false positive?

You don’t need to panic, but you also shouldn’t ignore it blindly.
Most Office “Pro Plus 2024” repacks trigger AV alerts because they include activation tools (KMS / loaders), and these are always flagged as Trojan:Win32/Leonem or similar, even when they’re not actually harmful.


If the installer came directly from Thumper and you verified the hash / comments from other users, then it’s most likely a false positive due to the activator, not an actual virus.


However, if you had a bad experience before and want to be extra safe, you can:

• Install the clean retail ISO from Microsoft
• Activate it using your own method
• Or download a different repack that others confirmed safe

So no, you don’t have to be worried, but it’s totally understandable to be cautious. These alerts happen with almost every repack that includes a KMS-style activation tool.
