I confess I have been using Google Remote Desktop for years now. I think it may be time to move on. I have a few systems that are only managed by remote.
Here's why I am considering change and why I haven't done so.
The mouse pointer bug is a pain in the neck. Sometimes you catch it and make it bigger when you first log in, if not, start over. Annoying.
Google and Apple are seemingly are no longer friends. Google killed the remote app for iOS and I am starting getting errors about upgrading Chrome yet my iPad 5th gen won't do it.

So what are you folks using. Last job we relied on Team Viewer but it's too tedious for my home usage.
I guess there is at least one cracked pro version floating around, that may be the best solution.

Anyviewer is what I use, the free version works great, you can transfer file via copy then CTRL V to paste the transfer. They kinda hid that as it shows no paste option again if you copy from one maching then go to the other and CTRL V to past and begin the transfer... https://www.anyviewer.com also produces and actual full size screen unlike AnyDesk. PS if it says the file is too large .zip it and copy and paste the zip to the designated folder then unzip it....

OK After some usage, Anyviewer should probably pinned to resources here. The three limit free registration is a problem for me, I still use Chrome remote desktop for the plus 3 systems I need access to on my network. Windows RD is too limited, that's what makes Chrome so good, however Apple access is threatened to be altered and no more app access, it still a work in process. For that matter Google is a work in progress lately, money is becoming and issue. This is showing up in YouTube access and subtlely showing up in their other products. Stay tuned for that. Ad revenue is down across the board and that will definitely affect all "free" products we use. Rumor is Adblock Origin will be banned for Chrome, just a rumor at this point.

I am using Rustdesk.
It is free/Open-Source, you can configure it for "local" only access via your LAN (No Internet needed), you can even do the Server/Hosting part on your own hardware.
It works on Windows, Linux, Mac, Android, iOS and Web

Ultraveiwer is great
I always like stuff on the cheap. $47.88/yr lowest tier subscription is a little steep for my needs. Software does look really nice for those of us with deep pockets.
Thanks for the suggestion.

I do have to get off my butt and give this a try. Thanks for giving me a nudge to start setting Rustdesk up.

I been using rudesk for more than 1 year, works greate for me.

OK Well if it works for the boss I need to give it a hard look.
Also,

If you want to use the PRO features for free when connecting to your friend's PC, ask them to rename the software (portable version) to:

rustdesk-host=YOUR_IP,key=duq6Bnx3LSp9IKIDlSR4rASnFA6x8yVeea8K2IEhjSk=

Make sure to replace YOUR_IP with your actual IP address (e.g., 80.80.80.80).

Personally for remote desktop repairs, Ill either use Teamviewer or a variation of Ultra VNC. It all depends on what job needs to be done.

Remote server handling I will use a high security UVNC which makes life really easy for working DOS, Linux, powershell or UNIX layouts.

Teamviewer is my first port of call for Desktop work, ok its a subscribe system, but that gets added to the clients bill and they can have their own copy of it free off TV. It also has a good line in security for clients left running. Keeps out all those nasty peoples.
